Course Catalogue

Our Course Catalogue has been replaced with individual Course Outlines and are attached, where applicable to the appropiate programme below.

Our courses are arranged under the following programmes:

Community Emergency Response.  This programme is designed to provide people in the community with the required knowledge and training so that they can assist their community in the event of an emergency.  Having trained volunteers available is essential to saving lives and property and reducing stress in the community.

School Education.  This provides participants with the skills to prepare for and respond to an emergency event.  In addition the information assists in the development and implementation of emergency management policies in meeting educational obligations. The target audience ranges from students, student teachers, teaching staff, BoT members, Principals and Property Managers.

A specific programme focusing on personal emergency preparedness for International Language colleges, education providers of new immigrants and Rest Homes is also available.

Emergency Rescue.  The Emergency Rescue Programme has been developed to meet the needs of everyone involved in Civil Defence Emergency Management, with participants offered courses to provide a wide range of skills and knowledge to respond to anything mother-nature or other emergencies can send their way.

Our basic level courses include First Aid and Emergency Building Warden. For those interested in more involvement with rescue there is a clear pathway onto General Rescue and Urban Search and Rescue Awareness, which are complimented by courses in Flood Safety and Flood Response, Storm Response, Safe Work at Height, Confined Space Awareness and Rope Rescue.

Emergency Management.  Communities and agencies responsible for emergency management need to have their people trained to the extent that the crisis can be managed effectively. Those affected by the crisis will be reliant on this group of knowledgeable professionals for leadership and direction during these highly stressful events. Through this programme EMTC provides this all-important training to emergency management professionals, both as paid and volunteer staff, who work in Emergency Operation Centres and Emergency Coordination Centres during an emergency. It is also aimed at Emergency Managers and others involved in the day-to-day management of Civil Defence Emergency Management.
