Janelle is the Course Coordinator for EMTC’s Emergency Rescue programme. |

Janelle teaches the spectrum of rescue courses, and assists on the Emergency Management courses. |
| CDEM Experience: |
Janelle started as a volunteer with the Red Cross Emergency Relief Team in the early 1990’s after finishing university. Despite being terrified of talking to large groups she somehow ended up in a volunteer training role! She was an inaugural member of NZRT1/RATS enjoying the challenge of extending her skills into rope rescue and had the unfortunate experience of abseiling off one of the hotels in Cathedral Square dressed as a bumble bee (thankfully all photos destroyed). In recent years Janelle has become involved in the training of USAR search dogs (but keeps her harness well used) and has a certified search dog, Cairo. She has been a past president of the NZ USAR search dog association and was the inaugural national coordinator. Operationally Janelle has deployed to South Canterbury floods, rural fires, snow, animal rescue and other CDEM activities and several Land SAR’s |
| Interests/Hobbies: |
Outside CDEM Janelle dabbles in craft, jewellery making and gardening but finds she needs to escape home to relax so fortunately has family in the Bay of Island and until recently Cairns. |
